Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the well-known television series Law and Order Special Victims Unit. At the age of 18, he began to pursue a passion for acting. In his school, the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. He's appeared in films and television, but the small screen characters which earned him fame and an enormous audience. His ability to play characters in both legal and non-legal settings is a draw for audiences. He played the part of a serial killer in the first TV series he appeared in and then went on to take on the role as an NYPD detective. He has been nominated multiple times for prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his tiny screen performances. His signature piercing, blue eyes which are said to make his look attractive. They've helped him portray tough characters in a charming style. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
